My Favorite Photo

This photo, taken at Mount Vestrahorn in Iceland, is probably my favorite photo at the moment. It encompasses much of what I enjoy in photography. It required prior research to see when and where the sun would be setting from my particular vantage point. It required patience to watch the clouds and sun as the sun headed for the horizon. Also, it required on-the-spot decision making to determine the correct camera settings to achieve a properly exposed photo while also getting a sunstar as well as clouds streaked through the sky. As a result - fine art landscape photography! It is amazing to me that this one moment in time will be forever preserved in my photography. As time passes, and new photos are captured, I will have many more favorites, but for now, this one stands out the most to me.

The Way Photography Impacts How I View The World Around Me

Since I began my photography journey, I've become far more attuned to the light, patterns, and subtle details that often go unnoticed. Seeking out leading lines, reflections, symmetry, and natural framing has not only strengthened my compositions but has also transformed the way I experience the world around me.

Photography has taught me to slow down, be present, and appreciate the extraordinary beauty found in both iconic landscapes and everyday moments. More than a creative pursuit, it has become a meaningful way to connect with nature, express my perspectives, and share the wonders of our planet with others through my images.

Hi, I'm Tarun!

I have always loved photography for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was fascinated by the idea of capturing a moment in time and preserving it forever. Back then, all I did was point the camera and press the button. But in the fall of 2021, I realized I wanted something more than just snapshots - I wanted to create fine art landscape photography.
By that point in my life, I had established a fulfilling career as a cardiologist and was fortunate to have a wonderful, loving wife and 2 amazing sons. It felt like the right time to pursue a lifelong passion and fully immerse myself in photography.
Based just outside Philadelphia, I taught myself to master my camera in manual mode by photographing everything from city streets to nearby parks and landscapes. Countless hours of practice transformed photography from a hobby into a creative outlet that combines my love of travel, nature and exploration.
Today, whether I am hiking through the mountains of Europe, standing beside a roaring waterfall in Iceland, or chasing the moon behind the Philadelphia skyline, my camera has become more than a tool - it's the way I experience and share the beauty of the world around me.

I love my camera deeply—not just as a tool, but as a constant companion in my journey through life.

It's been with me across continents, capturing moments both grand and intimate, giving me the power to freeze time and tell stories through light and perspective. From quiet alleys in old towns to sweeping mountain vistas, it has helped me see the world more clearly and express the way I feel about it.
