There are literally millions of compositions to be found in the Dolomites. I could spend months there exploring with my camera.
I love taking photos in Iceland. The views are spectacular, and seemingly unending.
Such a unique landscape with so many opportunities for photography.
Since I started taking photos, I have become much more observant for light and natural patterns in nature. Looking for leading lines, reflections, symmetry and natural frames allows me to maximize my compositions. But it also opens my eyes to the beauty of the world around me on a daily basis.
Photography helps me enjoy my surroundings more. I have a new appreciation for the beauty of our planet, and I love sharing that beauty with others through my photos. More than just an artistic outlet, photography has become a way for me to be more deeply connected to the world around me.
This photo, taken at Mount Vestrahorn in Iceland, is probably my favorite photo at the moment. It encompasses much of what I enjoy in photography. It required prior research to see when and where the sun would be setting from my particular vantagte point. It required patience to watch the clouds and sun as the sun headed for the horizon. Also, it required on-the-spot decision making to determine the correct camera settings to achieve a properly exposed photo while also getting a sunstar as well as clouds streaked through the sky. As a result - fine art landscape photography! It is amazing to me that this one moment in time will be forever preserved in my photography. As time passes, and new photos are captured, I will have many more favorites, but for now, this one stands out the most to me.
I love my camera deeply—not just as a tool, but as a constant companion in my journey through life.
It's been with me across continents, capturing moments both grand and intimate, giving me the power to freeze time and tell stories through light and perspective. From quiet alleys in old towns to sweeping mountain vistas, it has helped me see the world more clearly and express the way I feel about it.
